At Jude and Jo Jo, our mission goes beyond creating beautiful, cowgirl-inspired apparel. It’s about giving back to the communities and animals that inspire us every day. We're proud to support Helping Our Miniature Equines, a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming miniature horses and other farm animals. The Disney Trio: Our Inspiration

Our journey with Helping Our Miniature Equines began in 2023 when we welcomed Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff into our family—affectionately known as our Disney Trio. These beautiful miniature horses came to us thanks to the tireless efforts of the nonprofit to rehabilitate and care for them. They arrived at Jackson Ridge Acres a little uncertain but full of hope, and today they are thriving members of our farm family. Seeing their journey from rescue to recovery inspired us to give back in every way we could, and it’s one of the reasons we founded Jude and Jo Jo.

 

The Home Cares Program

Helping Our Miniature Equines doesn’t just rescue horses—they ensure that each animal receives the specialized care they need. Through the Home Cares Program, well-trained miniature equines are brought into communities to share joy and companionship. In 2023, they started giving back to their community by training some of their minis to visit people living in senior centers, memory care units, and residential hospice programs.

Miniature horses have an incredible ability to bring happiness to seniors. A visit from one of these minis can spark conversation, excitement, and give seniors a few minutes to be present while petting the horses, taking photos, or chatting with the handlers. These seemingly small interactions can significantly improve the mood of seniors, helping them temporarily forget about loneliness, depression, anxiety, pain, or other health issues. Motor, sensory, and emotional responses can be inspired simply by the presence of these gentle animals. Beyond senior care, individuals of all ages with mental and physical disabilities can also be positively affected by these tiny horses with big hearts.

Their Home Cares Program includes well-loved miniature horses such as Orion, Sampson, Delilah, Ode, and Little Joe. These wonderful minis bring joy, companionship, and comfort to those in need, making a real difference in their daily lives.

 

Home Haven Program

The Home Haven Program takes care to the next level by pairing rescued animals with loving temporary homes where they can recover and thrive until they find their forever family. This fosters a community of support that stretches beyond the nonprofit, creating meaningful connections between the animals and the people who care for them. Every dollar you spend with Jude and Jo Jo contributes to this program, helping more miniature equines find safe spaces and compassionate care.
