The Journey from Louisiana to Washington

In 2021, Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff arrived at HOME from Louisiana, carrying with them a difficult past. Named after characters in Disney’s Frozen, this trio arrived with deep anxiety and a mistrust of people. Elsa, believed to be Anna and Kristoff’s mother, had a strong and protective demeanor, while Anna and Kristoff showed signs of deep fear and uncertainty around humans. It was clear that they had experienced hardship, making trust-building essential to their rehabilitation.

HOME, a nonprofit founded by women and dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating miniature equines, played a pivotal role in the early stages of their recovery. When we adopted them in 2023, we picked up where HOME left off, understanding the importance of consistency in building trust and helping them thrive. Daily interaction, gentle handling, and ongoing training have been central to their journey at Jackson Ridge Acres.
